Couples/Relationship Therapy

Relationship-Focused Therapy (also known as Couple Therapy): Relationships are an integral part of our lives, and deserve care and attention. Every relationship is different, and Audrey enters this type of work with respect and admiration for the various ways people care for and hold relationship in their lives. Audrey works with couples and relationship configurations of all kinds at all stages of relationship. They draw on psychodynamic psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Somatic principles to help build feelings of safety and connection within the relationship. Audrey works to help you experience different ways of relating, rework old patterns, and bring more joy and resilience into your relationships.

Extended Couples Therapy: There are many reasons people may seek extended couples therapy sessions. Perhaps scheduling is difficult, and you’re interested in taking some therapeutic work in bigger chunks to accommodate your busy lives. Perhaps you have been experiencing persistent issues and you’re struggling to gain traction within hour-long sessions. Whatever the reason, long-format sessions can be rewarding and effective.

Extended sessions may happen only once or twice, or may happen periodically. Some couples opt for a limited number of 3-hour extended sessions to provide more time to explore something specific. Others prefer to have a recurring 3-hour appointment monthly in lieu of weekly sessions. Longer sessions allow more space for people to really relax into the process. If you find that you’re trying “regular” couples therapy and are taking 30 or 40 minutes to feel like you’re finally settling into the session, longer-format sessions might be for you!
